Abstract painting inspired by seashells and the coral reefs in the Maldives. You get the impression of looking into a seashell from various angles all at once. This one was painted after our short holiday to the Maldives where I spent rather a lot of time trying to steal seashells from the wonderful Hermit crabs that are so abundant there!

This painting is a part of my new "Colour Fields and Dusk" series - an exploration of colour through abstraction: the interplay of translucency and opacity; the wonderful ways colour interacts; how colour conveys meaning and influences emotions.
