Utterly original painting that was literally from a dream. With a deep teal background and intriguing details and subtle colours. From my "Colour Fields and Dusk" Series.
"Waking Dream"
I’m not sure there is much time when I’m not thinking of painting at the moment 😄. I eat, sleep and dream paintings. I certainly go to sleep thinking of compositions, dream of brush strokes, and wake up thinking of colour combinations. I need to figure out a way of ‘taking a still’ of the paintings I wake up with! Some of them are stunning, and of course I can’t for the devil remember them 10 seconds later! 🤣
This one, or a version of it, I had etched into my memory as I woke up.
From my summer colour fields painting series.
Acrylic & oil on wood.

The "Colour Fields and Dusk" series is an exploration of colour through abstraction: the interplay of translucency and opacity; the wonderful ways colour interacts; how colour conveys meaning and influences emotions. This series was further inspired by my taking up running along the seafront at sunset in summer. .
"Waking Dream" is the signature piece in my small collection for Artists Open Houses this year (May 2025).
NOTE: As this is a signature piece for AOH 2025, this painting will be posted out to you on 28th May (when Artists Open Houses Brighton finishes). Expected UK delivery is 29/30th May (international delivery date will depend on location). However, if you need it sooner, I can certainly arrange that, so please do get in touch.
