You're Invited! Artists Open Houses Brighton May 2025

Following an incredibly successful "open houses" season last year, I wanted to really hone my art practice. I took the time to be introspective and experiment without external pressures. I felt a shift in my art last year and I wanted to let it evolve without restraint.

This meant a massive exploration of colour. I’ve done probably a thousand studies on scraps of paper just within this year - and you know my colour obsession was there from the start. I think perhaps others understood my art better than I did. It’s taken me a while to realise that 'my subject is colour'. Everything else is the vehicle for my love of colour.

My very first release of paintings for a year will be this May - for Artists Open Houses. I would love for you to come along and see this new collection. Here is a little taster of a what to expect at my open house and all the details: Chanchala - Artists Open House - May 2025

It’s all weekends in May starting Saturday 3rd May and finishing Sunday 25th May + Bank Holiday Monday 5th May. I have affordable studies on paper, a variety of sizes of canvas/wood panel paintings (including some gorgeous minis I have fallen in love with making). If you’re interested in seeing any specific paintings, I recommend coming the first weekend. There will be refreshments, and hopefully time, and the weather, to chat in our little garden. I’m also doing open houses a little differently this year 😉. I will keep that a surprise.

Further, there are 20 other open houses on the Seven Dials Trail within a short walking distance of mine. So it's the perfect Spring day out.
