Inspired by summer time heat and glorious sunshine and joy. From my "Colour Fields and Dusk" Series.
"Summer"
If you've been paying any attention around here 😄, you will know I've spent the last many months obsessing over colour. This was the first of my colour fields paintings that I finished.
Painted at the onset of autumn as summer ended, and I was mourning the end of the glorious sunshine and warmth.
Acrylic & oil on cradled wood panel. Framed in Obeche wood.
17.5 inches square (framed)

The "Colour Fields and Dusk" series is an exploration of colour through abstraction: the interplay of translucency and opacity; the wonderful ways colour interacts; how colour conveys meaning and influences emotions. This series was further inspired by my taking up running along the seafront at sunset in summer.
